Greensboro Connects

The Greensboro Connects Initiative is a program that connects multiple services with residents of the Town of Greensboro and surrounding areas. This initiative provides an office-style physical space to organizations including nonprofits that provide a service to the community.

Given the limited public transit options in Caroline County, the Greensboro Connects initiative seeks to make critical services more accessible to town and north county residents.  

Greensboro Connects provides services in 13 different areas:

  1. Mental health services: Caroline County Health Department, Mid Shore Behavioral Health
  2. Substance Abuse Prevention: Maryland Coalition of Families, Choptank Recovery, Mid-Shore Behavioral Health (Safe Station program)
  3. Family Resources: Maryland Rural Development Corporation, Caroline County Department of Social Services, University of Maryland Extension (UME), Caroline County Judy Center
  4. Youth Programs: Caroline County Youth Soccer Association, Greensboro Police Department Community Basketball Program, Minary’s Dream Alliance, Caroline Pride
  5. Banking Services and financial literacy: Truist Bank, Shore United Bank and M&T Bank
  6. Mentoring, Children & Youth Advocacy Programs: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore, CASA of Caroline, ARC of the Chesapeake
  7. Homelessness prevention: His Hope Ministries
  8. Legal Services: Mid Shore Pro Bono
  9. Immigration services: Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center
  10. Business resources: Caroline County Chamber of Commerce, Caroline County Economic Development
  11. Educational Resources: Greensboro Elementary School, Zero Deaths Maryland Department of Transportation, Caroline County Public Library, Greensboro Historical Society
  12. Food Pantry: Aarons Place
  13. Senior Services: Senior Community Employment Program, Maryland Department of Labor, Minority Outreach and Technical Assistance (MOTA) Fitness in Action Program

Greensboro Connects also strives to raise awareness of various topics in our community such as: Substance Abuse, Danger of Tobacco, Homelessness, Green Energy, Community Garden benefits, Hydroponic systems, Nutrition, Child Abuse Prevention, Equity and Diversity.

Aaron’s Place Food Pantry at Greensboro Connects

Greensboro Connects has a Food Pantry that provides service 5 days a week for 7 hours a day. This food pantry serves around 25 to 30 individuals every week.

The Greensboro Connects Food Pantry not only offers food but also offers clothing, hygiene products among others.
